In a world determined to avoid future wars, society has been split into factions and at 16 you can choose which faction suits your personality and join it. Except it might mean turning your back on your family or discovering that you don't fit easily in any faction: that you are a Divergent. Beatrice is a Divergent trying to belong in Dauntless - can she succeed and is it the right thing to do?
Books about a strong female character struggling to survive in a future world shredded by wars or global warming are popular at the moment. However there are always some that stand above the others, that pull you in and make you care about the characters and their crumbling world. This is one of those books.
This is book 1, in the Divergent Trilogy series
I have never read a book that has been so well thought out before. The story imediadtly pulls you in and you can't help but start to think what faction do I belong in? The story touches all of the emotions, you bubble with anger at some of the decisions that the characters make and love them at the same time.
